Orangeburgh Area Locations and Overlays

To use the following files you will have to have the Google Earth software installed on your computer. Google Earth is available free for most current versions of Windows and Macs. Google Earth may be downloaded HERE.

If you have Google Earth, clicking on one of the links below will fly Google Earth to the Orangeburg area and display the locations or overlay on the satellite image. Thee location files will be in your "Places" sidebar under "Temporary Places". Clicking on a location or overlay will display the the selected item. Only a few locations have been pre-selected as displaying all of them makes for a very busy map.

Overlays

Orangeburgh Plats - Includes two overlays. The first shows the original 1735 town survey along with the 1735 plats of Hans Dietrick, Henry Hesse, Henry Rickenbacher, Joseph Robinson, Henry Salley, Lewis Timothys, and Jacob Twytler, all of which were located on the North bank of the Edisto River. The second overlay shows the location of the Old Rickenbacher Homestead and Burial Ground.

Churches & Cemeteries - Includes location markers for a number of Orangeburg area churches and cemeteries.
